As a newbie in barbecue myself, learning a new term or two related to barbecuing is quite an achievement for me.

Here’s my favourite barbecue jargon:

Pitmaster. An experienced barbecue cook, a skilled craftsman, who watches over the pit and can tell by sight, sound, smell, and touch, if it is running too hot or too cold, when it needs fuel, when to add wood, when to add sauce, and when the meat is ready.

The knol is unique, as it is actually a list of knols on everything about canoeing and kayaking written by knol writers in open and moderated collaborations. Currently, there are 10 knols listed, and from those 10 knols alone I found a great deal of information, even for a non-enthusiast like me.

My favourite from the knols on the list is How to Pack a Canoe. This knol is great for a total newbie like me wanting to know about what to prepare and plan in canoe camping to make it a memorable and worthwhile experience.

If you are interested in canoeing and kayaking, you can register yourself through ‘add a link’ link on the knol, that leads to another knol explaining about how to add your outdoor knols to the list.
