4. Book the entertainment as far out as possible, especially on high demand events such as Christmas or New Years Eve parties.
5. Offer to use the entertainment company for next year’s event if they are able to meet you on the price of an act.

7. Offer a great incentive for the talent in exchange for a small discount.
8. Get a sponsor to cover the cost of entertainment.
9. Be flexible with the dates you book.
10. Provide all or lots of the AV equipment needed for the act.

Scavenger hunt came into forms that cater all interests:

• Classic scavenger hunt

The knol on game events, written by Herman Ronk, explain the in-depth look on computer game events, called lanparties.

According to Herman Ronk:

lanparty is “A (large) group of gamers gathering in one location socializing and playing computer games on a high speed computer network.”

Although often associated to geek and nerds, lanparties today are more accessible to a broader public. Lanparties are also related to men’s world – however, the latest trends show that the network gaming world is not a male’s world anymore.

Herman showed a proof that in the largest outdoor lanparty in the world, CampZone, 11% of the visitors is female. Although seems small, this is a considerable growing number, from 0% 7 years ago and 5% 2 years ago.

I personally knew a female gamer that is actually leading her ‘clan’ – team of gamers – to competitions as well as running her own game server for her team to play and practice.

Some of the most famous multiplayer games are Command & Conquer and Counter Strike.

In my opinion, lanparites are no longer associated to geeks and male anymore. Games reach more and more broader audience.

One of the emerging entertainer in entertainment world, particularly related to parties, is party caricaturist.

A knol by Simon Ellinas, a London-based cartoonist himself, is a very interesting read, indeed. It is about his view on caricatures at parties, written in an amusing and hilarious story-tale-like way.

According to the knol, party caricaturists are usually hired at company parties to create caricatures of the party guests.

Party caricaturists are considered as entertainer due to the fact that their presence in the party and what they do interest the party guests.

The caricaturists and their work stir opinions and interesting statements, especially if the guest is chosen as a caricature model. Simon also wrote that even the guests themselves asked to be chosen as models.

One thing interesting I found from Simon’s knol is that the professional cartoonists are in a ‘friendly rivalry’ between each other – competing for services but share a lot of information and advice among each other.

Party caricaturing is indeed the world of entertainment’s new, emerging, star!
